We first contacted Gary Woerner in August of 2020. We weren’t sure if we wanted to remodel our existing home or build a new house. Gary was the first builder we called based on all his excellent reviews and the recommendation of a friend who had used Woerner Builders to build her home. The first time we called Gary, he personally answered his phone and came to look at our house the same day. Given the significant amount of changes we wanted to make, and after walking through one of Gary’s beautiful model homes, we decided to build a new house. We were so impressed with the quality of the Woerner homes and how the floor plans really maximized the square footage of living space.

This was our first experience with a totally new construction home and we felt a little overwhelmed but Gary quickly set us at ease and patiently walked us through the process and answered all of our many questions. He was very accommodating and worked with us and his architect to make some changes to the floor plans that we requested. From day one we felt that Gary genuinely had our best interests in mind and did everything he could to save us money and keep within our budget. He was always very responsive and answered the phone whenever we called. Construction on our house began in the Fall of 2021. Despite some supply chain issues due to Covid, our house was still completed on time, in June of 2022.

Once construction started, Rob Woerner contacted us with a timeline and began coordinating all of the necessary contractors. We really can’t thank Rob enough for all that he did to make this process as stress-free as possible. Just like his father, Rob was always available throughout the project and was so patient, hard working and diligent. He also gave us some great decorating advice! Although we were not on site very often, we soon realized that we could trust Gary, Rob and his team. All of the contractors working for Woerner Builders were top rate and did excellent work. It was so reassuring to us that if we had any questions or concerns, Gary and Rob were just a phone call away. In June, it will be one year since our house was completed and we are so happy with everything and would highly recommend Woerner Builders!!

We’ve been in our home for almost 3 years and are still amazed at the quality of what Gary and his team delivered!!!! Our house is three stories – built in on sand, as we’re close to the beach, and there are no creaks in the floors, cracks or settling anywhere.

We live in relatively windy section of the Island (I’ve lost count of the number of windows we have) – and there isn’t a draft coming from one of them. I don’t know how he was able to get the house insulated to the level that he did, but we’re grateful for all of his attention to ensure every detail was addressed!

Also, whenever we have a question, Gary is there and ready to help, long after we moved in. If we were ever to build another house on the Island, there’s no question that we would work with Gary again!

Finally, Gary and his team just completed a custom pool house for us as well that is beyond spectacular.

We couldn’t be happier with Woerner and love our new home! When we were looking for a builder, we met with Gary who showed us some of his models and we were impressed with the quality of the construction and level of finishes that he includes in his pricing – all very nice and high end! Talking with people on the island that had homes built by Woerner really sealed our decision as everyone said his is super responsive and provides great service – not just during construction, but maybe more importantly after. Woerner is based in Brigantine and builds pretty much exclusively there and strives to maintain their very well respected brand.

Robbie is Gary’s son and oversaw the construction process, coordination with the subs and worked with us on every detail. Lindsey, Robbie’s wife, helped us through each step of finishes selection and always offered advice as well as anything else to help such as finishes installed in other homes. It’s daunting to select floors for an entire house prior to it being built and having someone alongside for that process is super helpful!

Overall A+++. Family owned and the customer experience like being treated as part of the family throughout the process – highly recommended!!

From the start, Gary Woerner was the most responsive and knowledgeable of all the builders that we spoke with when considering renovation versus total rebuild. Once deciding on total rebuild, Gary was a pleasure to work with and had the perfect home for us, which was his Coronado model. The space is amazing and the detailing is top notch. The construction quality excellent. It had all we were looking for in our dream home with one tweak. We wanted an elevator and he made that happen, even though the Coronado is a 2 story home. No matter what question we had, Gary got back to us within minutes to answer our question.

Now to the construction part. Rob Woerner, Gary’s son was our project manager. I cannot give him enough accolades for the fantastic job he did for us. He is unbelievably hard working. His attention to detail is amazing. He is so even keeled and it was easy to bounce ideas off of him. We really enjoyed working with him. And like Gary, Robbie got back to us within minutes of our text or phone call. He would also drop by personally to meet with us if we were there to see the progress while the house was being built. Even with a couple supply delays with some of our appliances and some of the kitchen, our house was still ready in the time frame promised. Then we were so surprised that after the construction was completed, not only a cleaning team was sent in, but the house was power washed and then a window cleaning team was brought in to make our windows sparkle. Our beautiful house was truly in “move-in” condition.

We are so pleased with everything and so happy that our beautiful dream home is now a reality. I would highly recommend Woerner Custom Builders

We had a home flood. The entire inside of our house had to be ripped to the studs. Our neighbors recommended Gary and we see his signs all over the island. We called him on a Saturday, he came to the house on Monday and was able to give us a proposal within 2 days. We were so distraught, we left for work one day and we couldn’t live in our home. Gary was able to take on the renovation and get everything done quickly. His team were very professional and nice. with 40 plus years of real estate experience with builders, i have seen a lot. gary woerner offers a reasonable, balanced contract and a competitive , fair price. the construction was slightly behind schedule (partially due to covid related work slowdowns and some back ordered items), but he showed flexibility in finding suitable options and prioritizing essentials to get us occupancy when requested. most importantly, he was and remains highly responsive- he answers emails and texts 7 days per week. he and his team respond quickly to items big and small (even post closing). 5 stars is too little- well deserved!

My wife and I give Woerner Custom Builders a 10 star rating, because 5 stars isn’t enough to express our satisfaction. Gary has a template in place that eliminates stress, aggravation and makes the process of building a home enjoyable (which frankly, we didn’t expect). We revised the plan of one of his models (we reversed the kitchen/living room and bedrooms – putting living area on 1st floor and bedrooms on the 2nd), working with his architect, and created a home exactly to our preferences. While we added some upgrades, everything included in a “standard” Woerner home is top quality, and we’d have been pleased even if we stuck with the “specs” in every case. Once underway, all the contractors Gary works with are outstanding. They follow that template and make the process easy. Communication flow was excellent so decision could be made without added pressure. Their level of customer service is outstanding. Pricing was transparent – we knew what everything would cost and if we made changes we knew immediately the cost implications, allowing us to make informed decisions. The timeline promised was met – 8 months from demolition to occupancy of the new home. Gary’s son Rob oversaw the construction process and was beyond excellent. Every call, text or email was answered promptly. He was always accessible, knows his stuff, and if he didn’t know the answer, (very rare), he would get it – quickly. Simply put – our expectations were always met and usually exceeded. While I know they are building homes all over the island, Rob made us feel as if ours was the only home they were building. Deciding who would build our home was the biggest financial decision of our life – but at no point did we ever regret selecting Woerner.

Gary and Robbie Woerner of Woerner Custom Builders just finished the construction of our new home in Brigantine.

The project was on-budget and on-time amidst the COVID pandemic. In spite of all of the supply chain disruptions, the team worked relentlessly with the aim to get us into our home by Memorial Day and succeeded. We communicated with Robbie, regularly, frequently daily, as he managed the project. He was exceptionally responsive, a good listener and clear communicator, and helped us make decisions along the way. This was our third construction project since 1999 and it was, by far, the best experience.

Our only regret is that we don’t have another project so we can keep working with the Woerners!

If I could give 10 stars I would!! Everyone warned me that building a custom home would be a nightmare of a process – I should be prepared for excessive delays, lack of responsiveness, being over budget, etc. They could not have been more wrong, as EVERY aspect of working with Gary Woerner and his son Rob was impeccable. Gary and Rob always responded almost instantly which impressed me every time. Gary even picked up my call during his son’s wedding – just incredible customer service – so above and beyond! The whole process was so smooth and every subcontractor that Gary uses was also so impressive, as the second they heard I was referred to by Gary, they immediately stepped up and could not have been more helpful and responsive!

The quality of Gary’s work is second-to-none as so many of his “standard” features are usually upgrades with other builders. We just moved into our home this past week and there were a couple of minor issues and still Gary or Rob was available at a moment’s notice to resolve.

My neighbor lives in Brigantine all year, so she watched the construction first hand. She constantly praised how clean the worksite was, how Gary or Rob was always there to make sure work was done and just how productive and hard-working the crew always was!

I never felt like I was bothering them with my many questions and there was never a delay or lag with any changes! I completely recommend Woerner Builders!

As a banker who lends money to builders, I can say that Gary Woerner is a true professional. He built my home for exactly the amount we discussed and within the exact timeframe. He kept me informed on the progress of the project weekly and he often called me daily when necessary. When I had questions, he was available 7 days a week by phone or in person.
